Meet Zippy
Hi, I’m Zipporah – or Zippy for short! I’m an Occupational Therapist who’s passionate about supporting children to feel confident, connected, and capable in their own unique ways. My approach is grounded in joyful, relationship-based therapy, and I love working collaboratively with families to create safe, supportive environments where each child can truly thrive.
My Passion Areas
I’m especially passionate about working with Autistic children and teens, ADHDers, and AuDHDers. I believe in celebrating neurodivergence and supporting each young person in a way that honours their strengths, interests, and needs. My practice is rooted in interest-led, affirming approaches that centre safety, trust, and authenticity.
I particularly enjoy helping kids build a strong sense of self, deepen their emotional understanding, and feel empowered in their everyday lives. Whether it’s through play, connection, or shared creativity, I aim to make therapy something that feels meaningful and enjoyable.
Outside of work, I recharge through creativity and connection. I’m a bit of a sci-fi and fantasy nerd, and I love painting abstract watercolours, listening to audiobooks, and playing Nintendo Switch. I also share my space (and the occasional Zoom call!) with my adorable and cheeky bird, Harry.
Areas of Additional Learning
I’m deeply committed to ongoing learning, especially in the areas of mental health and trauma-informed care. I prioritise professional development that is neurodiversity-led, evidence-informed, and aligned with the values of respect and responsiveness.
My background in early childhood education, and my training as a Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) facilitator shape my practice with both flexibility and depth. I love integrating tools that help build strong foundations for kids and their families — emotionally, socially, and developmentally.
